Bio
Fenway's artistic journey began as a child when she created beautiful masterpieces that dazzled her peers and mentors. Inspired by the legendary abstract artist Ding Yi and her college mentor, Fenway decided to delve into the spiritual world by expressing through the medium of paint and canvas.
Fenway received her BFA from Fudan University and an MFA from the Rochester Institute of Technology’s School of Film and Animation. After a decade of working with big-name brands, where she perfected her design expertise on the commercial side, Fenway went back to her roots and pursued a career as a full-time visual artist. Her works have been exhibited in prestigious museums and galleries worldwide, such as the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art, Disney’s WonderGround Gallery, Shanghai Financial Information Center, and the Times Center.
Fenway's creative prowess has garnered attention from major media outlets such as Voice of America and The China Press. Her artwork has deeply resonated with visitors to Disney Parks globally, where her pieces are sought after. Recognizing her exceptional talent, Disney honored Fenway with the title of "The Grandest Vision" artist in promotional documentary episodes spotlighting her creative journey.
When she's not busy creating art, Fenway finds time to give back to society by teaching art and supporting local schools through her nonprofit studio. Currently residing in Boston, MA, with her husband and son, Fenway shares her passion for art with the world, hoping to inspire the next generation of artists to pursue their dreams and let their creativity shine.
Artist Statement:
As an artist, I serve as a conduit for the wisdom of the cosmos, channeling energy and positive vibes to craft works that resonate with the soul. In my ongoing series, Refraction, the very name draws inspiration from the natural phenomenon of light bending. Each piece in this collection is a product of profound meditation, a process that transcends time and space, resulting in serene and joyful creations.
Refraction invites viewers to participate actively, completing the artwork by sharing their unique perspectives. Through these pieces, my intention is to awaken and heal souls, elevate collective consciousness, and radiate unconditional love and positive energy. My aspiration is that this distinctive approach to art sparks inspiration and fosters connections across diverse backgrounds, fostering a sense of unity beyond personal or cultural differences.
While I strive to make a meaningful impact in the art world, my commitment remains grounded in humility, dedicated to both my craft and the cultivation of community through creativity. Each Refraction piece stands as a testament to the transformative power of art, and it is an honor to share these creations with the world.
